Current head: 8953c74e349928a5c81d3cea9ffe264c81c3ab65
I ran a regression test and found 50e3f110d00f698ab17cd90064a2e7e538c855b9 to be the cause for the League of Legends launcher to crash on start.

This does not happen with vanilla wine 1.7.10.

I am running Debian x86_64 jessie/sid.

Tested again with head at 0c77f89f61bda08e70ba9bd87beba6f7f9c990dd.
The crash has gone away, but the game fails at updating itself now.

But I guess I shouldn't report bugs not present in any tagged release.
Will reopen, or create a new bug if the problem persists until 1.7.11.
