Description brymaster 2013-11-08 21:15:35 UTC
Games normally requiring winetricks ddr=gdi workaround (because of garbage/distorted video with ddr=opengl) are only showing a black screen since Wine 1.7.2. Example games are Age of Empires 1, 2 and C&C Red Alert 2.

Tested with both X11 and winemac driver, same results. Running OS X 10.8.5 with Nvidia 9400M.

A few notes:

- Running the games with X11 and ddr=opengl in a windowed virtual desktop at 800x600 will work to display video, but not in normal fullscreen.

- Unable to run the game windowed with winemac driver. It always forces it to fullscreen, so I can't check to see if it'll run in a windowed virtual desktop with ddr=opengl.

MS still has AoE trials online for anyone interested in replicating http://download.microsoft.com/download/aoe/Trial/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/MSAoE.exe or Archive mirror https://archive.org/download/AgeOfEmpiresIiTheConquerorsDemo/Age2XTrial.exe

Sorry no regression test yet.
