When I hit Tab, I saw only description of the location, not minimap.
Gentoo x86_64, Videocard - radeon HD 4670 with "radeon" driver.
Presents on wine 1.5.6, 1.5.28, 1.6.0, 1.7.0...

In UI Options, you find the Map-Transparency. When you pull it to the right edge you get your full map back.

Can we close this?

There has been no response in almost a year, and it seems this was a setting problem not an actual bug.
