Description JD 2013-08-18 15:40:22 UTC
Downloaded smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe from
http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/en/downloads

I then ran the command

wine smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe

and I got the error banner saying:

A 64-bit Windows Operating system is required to install this software

and wine exited.

I am running

wine-1.5.29-1.fc18.x86_64
on kernel
kernel-3.9.11-200.fc18.x86_64

on AMD Athlon64 hardware.

Please stop removing the download keyword. It helps us know that the bug can be reproduced by others.

But the bug has nothing to do with downloading. In other words,
I did not use wine to download the smplayer file. I used Linux.

So, if you think the keyword download will help someone find
bugs related to download, that someone will be disappointed when he reads
this bug :)

That's not about that, here's a description page http://bugs.winehq.org/describekeywords.cgi.

Hello folks,

installs fine with Wine 1.7.8
Resolving 'fixed'.

On startup it runs into bug 35041 (at least on my Fedora 19 machine).

$ sha1sum smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe
49ab5358fe8b19c82805e765250ad2d61e896a55  smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe

$ du -sh smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe
18M	smplayer-0.8.6-x64.exe

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.8-128-g37460b6
