Console Log

Terraria hangs on "Starting server..." Installed .NET 4.0 via winetricks from svn and installed MS XNA Framework (it was included with Terraria). There's some network related things in log.

Oops, I misunderstood what you said, I attached crashlog.txt.

Hello,

can't reproduce.
Creating/hosting a local server and joining the server/world with another client from local machine works fine.

Are you hosting the server with "TerrariaServer.exe" or "Terraria.exe"?
Hosting with "TerrariaServer.exe" (headless) requires start through 'wineconsole'.

Terraria Server v1.1

$ wine --version
wine-1.4

No, I just ran Terraria.exe and choose Multiplayer→Host&play from game menu. Game hangs on Starting server...
Comment 7 Joshua 2013-10-12 14:06:20 UTC
Still crashing when trying to Host+Play. Tested running TerrariaServer.exe directly as well and they result in the same unhandled exception and console error messages.

Anyone should be able to test the bug not just those who own Terraria, server is available as a free download from terraria.org: http://www.terraria.org/terraria-server-12031.zip

Requires installation of dotnet40 and xna40 via winetricks to get to this point.

Unhandled Exception that occurs when trying to host Terraria Server
Comment 9 Anastasius Focht 2013-10-12 15:16:50 UTC
Hello folks,

still works for me in older server 1.1 version.
Wine 1.7.4

@Adam: Please retest with a _recent_ Wine version and 1.1 server
If it still fails, attach console output.

@Joshua: Please avoid mixing different issues in one bug. See bug 34711 for your problem.

Comment 10 Anastasius Focht 2014-03-03 15:15:00 UTC
Hello folks,

still works for me and no further response from OP -> resolving 'fixed'.

Again: the backtrace from comment #8 is bug 34711

Comment 11 Alexandre Julliard 2014-03-07 14:12:19 UTC
Closing bugs fixed in 1.7.14.
