I have installed an application and there is no error during installation. 

On run time it gives message: 
Quote:
Could not install 160 fonts. First Uninstalled font is 1. Please reinstall the fonts 
from the setup disks.


After ignoring above message I goto open a window made file and it says that encountered a serious error. needs to close down.

Please correctly set Wine version. I'm sure you are not using wine-1.1.4. And specify what program you are talking about. And exact steps to reproduce the issue.

Hello Vitaliy Margolen 

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Program Name: Inpage 2000, works okay on win2k.

$ dpkg -l | grep wine
ii  wine                                    1.1.42~winehq1-1               Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer
ii  wine-gecko-1.0.0                        1.0.0-2                        Mozilla's Gecko Layout Engine for Wine

See attachment as you said by wine prg &> log.txt

DETAIL:
1. During Installation no problem.
2. During opening of the software it asks that font issue as in:
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=71331#71331
3. As I open a file the file is read, but shows that the program has encountered a problem and cannot continue.

I tried but failed to install the latest version of wine 1.3.7. It has dependency issues and I cannot handle install. So sticking to the repo version.

Please let me know how can I help more.

Sorry, but this is very very very old Wine version and is not supported. The latest development version is wine-1.3.37.

For help with installing Wine refer to your distro support forum. For help with compiling Wine you can ask Wine forum.

If you confirm that the program will run, i can try the new wine version.

Is it a freely redistributable software? If not then sorry, you'll have to test it yourself.

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce the crash, installs and runs fine here.
Resolving 'fixed'.

Prerequisite: 'winetricks -q mfc42'

$ sha1sum Setup.exe 
d10a5fcfe3837ae1098c5b84e5372553b070be1c  Setup.exe

$ du -sh Setup.exe 
15M	Setup.exe

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.12-125-g9ca4f9b
