Error report, same as link.

I'm running on Ubuntu 11.04, 32 bit, with Wine 1.3.35 installed, and I've also built from source my own 1.3.28, for ZBrush, as appdb said that ZBrush 4 R2 runs Platinum with 1.3.28, and I couldn't get it to work with .35. However, I had exactly the same problems with .28 as with .35, this error; see the link, and/or attachment:

https://gist.github.com/1478c9cbcc312a34a1bf

I find this very strange, as appdb states ZBrush 4.0 R2 as 'platinum'. As you can see, I've set up a whole wine prefix (zbrush_1328) to get ZBrush to run with wine 1.3.28 rather than 1.3.35. I have done a lot of searching, and the only other thread I found to be of use was the patch thread in this forum, which I tried, but still that error. Please help, I would love to get ZBrush working!

Here is a little bit more info on my setup, some repeated froma avou

Sorry, submitted the bug before I finished writing by accidant. Carrying on:

.......some repeated from above:

OS: Ubuntu 11.04 32bit, classic gnome

CPU: AMD Athlon 2500+ 1.46Ghz Single Core

RAM: 1.5GB DDR2

Wine: 1.3.35 from repo, 1.3.28 compiled myself

Program: ZBrush 4.0 R2

Problem: Failing to launch after install.

Info: Custom zbrush prefix made in ~/zbrush_1328, for running with .28. .28 is built in /mnt/HDD2/wine-1.3.28/, which is my second HDD.

More info can be given if needed.

Is there a trial/demo version?

A trial I downloaded is from here. http://www.filesonic.com/file/2138747144

I didn't realise you could get a legit trial from the pixologic site, and that was a top result when searching for Zbrush download.

The only thing is, it's 400mb so I'm not sure you're going to want to download that >.<

For me in wine-1.3.35-168-g5b93bb9, tells me that wintab service is not available and never runs.

Weird. Did you try the wintab fix? http://forum.cgpersia.com/f40/zbrush-4-0-wine1-3-patch-wintabs-services-not-available-works-well-35323/

It didn't work for me. But then, I don't think my error is to do with wintab.

New error now. I started fresh, removed the WINEPREFIX, removed everything, and re-installed ZBrush. Here is what I'm getting now, when I try to run with wine 1.3.35: http://www.pasteall.org/27751

And this is with 1.3.28:

http://www.pasteall.org/27752

As you can see, these are very different to the first errors I was getting. Also, now I'm not getting a popup window, nothing is happening at all!

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce this, runs fine.
Resolving 'fixed'.

The log in comment #6 indicates a broken WINEPREFIX.

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.13-162-g376953e

Regards
