Download the downloader and run it. Switch virtual desktops (e.g., ctrl+alt+right), then return to the original desktop. The window will disappear. The app is still running, and will continue to download in the background.

Workaround is to use a virtual desktop/not change workspaces.

Works for me in wine-1.7.11-306-g8f289c8 / xfwm4 version 4.10.1

Closing bugs fixed in 1.7.12.
