Description kennyb40 2011-10-23 01:35:17 UTC
I have an application from Softpedia, which purports be allow one to run Watchtower Library on a Mac, but it does not work. After I downloaded the Watchtower CD, when I try to run the program, I get a "encountered a serious error" message. The error message also suggested that I report the bug to winehq.

Wine version? Terminal output?
Comment 2 kennyb40 2011-10-23 13:16:30 UTC
Error reads "program WTlibrary.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close." Now, whenever I try to run the app, I get this message.

Right, we're looking for the terminal output:

Softpedia mentions wine version 1.3. The Appdb for Watchtower Library 2010' has tests filed that show WTL crashes without starting (with the 'serious error' message) in wine 1.3.27 thru to 1.2.30'. The good news - Tests also show it started working in 1.3.31. There is a workaround involving a manifest.

~/.wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs/manifests/*.vc90.*_deadbeef.manifest

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22127

to identify the wine version type:
wine --version

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

Received via private email:
"This bug appears to be about running a very old version wine which had
been already fixed."

marking fixed.
