fixme's aren't an error... was there an error dialog or something, too?

Of course. Yes, it pops up an error dialog with the "Couldn't get the string value.." dialog. A simple ok dismisses it, but of course, that shouldn't happen.

Disabling gameux works around it and avoids the extra dialog.

The same fixmes are displayed after CIV4 installation but without any error.
Comment 4 Dan Kegel 2010-11-30 12:54:49 UTC
Star Trek Online's installer also puts up an
"Unable to register with games exporer"
dialog.

This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc4 or higher or is this to be closed as abandoned ?
Comment 6 Austin English 2013-07-01 04:19:02 UTC
gameux hasn't had any functional changes in a while, so yeah, it is still present.
Comment 7 Nikolay Sivov 2013-12-09 13:46:50 UTC
Austin, could you attach +gameux,+tid log? Let's figure out at what point it fails at least.
