Word file with long name

If I double click on the filename, Word 2007 opens but never opens the file.
I can open it from the program menu.
I presume it's something to do with the length of the file name.  Can anyone confirm?

Hmm. Seems the uploader clipped the filename length anyway.
Should be as title of essay.

Don't you have a space in the filename? I think i saw such issue already.

That problem was fixed a while ago.

Although I assume there is some problem with the fix that this is revealing?

In fact the problem still remains in wine 1.2 , 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 .  Files can only be opened from word 2007 menu.  The other file types used by office 2007 when doubble clicked open in the related application.

Do you have Office 2007 installed in a different wineprefix?
My experience suggests it has something to do with that.

In fact we have here several computers runing office 2007 under wine and some of them only have this suite installed.  I presume that there is no reason to install it in a different wine prefix when no other program co-exists.  Is it right?

I am having the same issue with wine 1.5.9 and Word 2010. Please let me know if there is any information that I can provide to help determine a fix.
