Description skoruppa 2010-02-16 06:02:50 UTC
Mouse generally works, but not everywhere. All elements of the gui, the login screen and selection screen works, but not during the control of character.

I do not post logs because they are not showing. Perhaps some special WINEDEBUG?
Comment 1 Vitaliy Margolen 2010-02-16 09:21:13 UTC
Please test with older (wine-1.1.30) Wine version. If it's working there - it's a duplicate.
Comment 2 skoruppa 2010-02-16 13:04:28 UTC
In 1.1.30 and even 1.1.22 problem also exist.

For example, mouse have focus on other players but i can't click on them.
Comment 3 skoruppa 2010-02-17 06:22:29 UTC
Interesting is that sometimes mouse clicking works ok. However, this happens once every fifteen starts of game.
Comment 4 Pierre 2010-02-20 13:25:23 UTC
I have the same problem

It used to work right away in Ubuntu 9.04 with wine version 1.0.1
In ubuntu 9.10 I have to try over and over and over again until it works, Wine version is also 1.0.1
In Fedora 11 I am using wine version 1.1.32 and I have the same problem, it works after opening it and closing numerous times

I can open menus, chat through friend messenger and normal chat, I cant click on any skills or items, doing so results in a red question mark, Clicking on players, enemies etc. doesn't work but it seems the mouse recognizes them because when I pass the mouse over they get an outline but I can't click on them and get the yellow arrow above them

I can confirm this bug.

I'm using Fedora 12 x86_64. I tried wine from 0.9.36 to 1.1.40. In every case bug appears.
Comment 8 Vitaliy Margolen 2010-03-14 14:28:05 UTC
Attach as a plain text file complete terminal output running the program.

wine-1.1.40 output log

I ran NosTale directly instead of running it through it's launcher.
Comment 10 Pierre 2010-03-15 19:03:36 UTC
Thats exactly what I get as well
Comment 11 Nicola Maza 2010-04-25 09:05:33 UTC
I have the same problem

I use the last nostale, ubuntu 9.10 and wine 1.1.43.
Nostale receives the "onmouseover" event but not receives the "onclick".

I'm sorry for my broken English..
Comment 12 Marco 2010-05-30 11:46:55 UTC
The problem still exists.
Tested it under Ubuntu 10.04 with the packaged wine (wine-1.1.42). Additionaly I compiled the newest wine (wine-1.2-rc2) with the same result.

Updates work.
I did not check the NosMall in detail, but under some configuration (IE6?) it seems to work.
I could do anything, except moving the character.

Maybe this is due to a cheat/bot preventing mechanism in the game?
Comment 13 Dan Kegel 2011-02-02 19:29:20 UTC
Confirmed by multiple users.
Comment 14 Lisiano 2011-02-16 17:41:58 UTC
The problem does not persist for me on 1.3.13 with dinput8 installed via winetricks. Can anyone else confirm this?
Comment 15 Marco 2011-03-19 02:06:53 UTC
I can not confirm.

I just tried in wine 1.3.16 with dinput8 via winetricks 20110312.

The mouse didn't work.

I will try some other configs and let you know if I got it working.
Comment 16 Anthony Chaput 2011-06-24 08:06:40 UTC
The problem also exist in the wine version 1.2.3 and 1.3.22

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
Comment 18 Marco 2013-11-14 16:55:00 UTC
Thanks for the reminder.

I just installed Notale on the newest wine (1.7.4) on my Ubuntu Precise (12.04 amd64).

The mouse works now as expected.

From my side, this bug is fixed.
