When i want enable eve voice in-game it disconnected from the eve voice server. And in the terminal i become this:

fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)

Wine version ist the lastest git version.
Comment 1 Rob 2009-12-29 15:57:55 UTC
I've experienced the same problem.
opensuse 11.2 x86_64
wine 1.1.35

howto recreate this bug is below.

I accendently disabled eve-voice and when trying to turn it back on eve hangs and finally crashes. This happens every time when you disable eve-voice.

The only way to enable eve-voice is to reinstall eve.(been there done that) Use the uninstall tool that came with the client, then reinstall it again.
Eve voice is on by default.
After this do NOT EVER touch that setting again.

Back up your .dat files from your settings folder unless you like to reinstall eve. Backups of the .dat files will save you much time.
The settins folder can be found here :
.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/<user>/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings

Only the .dat files need backing up.

Howto recreate this bug:

1 log into eve untill you are in a station hangar.
2 press esc to bring up the config menu
3 select the voice tab
4 uncheck the eve-voice to disable it.
5 close the config screen
6 log off
7 quit the eve client
8 start the eve client
9 log into eve untill you are in a station hangar.
10 press esc to bring up the config menu
11 select the voice tab
12 check the eve-voice to enable it.

now eve will hang
wait for it to crash out completely, could take a couple minutes.

this is the output from the moment I check enable.

before I forget , if you have correct .dat files restoring them fixes the problem as well.

Try turning it back on at the Character Selection screen. Should turn on ok and don't hang the game.

Comment 5 Rob 2010-01-29 04:12:34 UTC
still no voice in 1.1.37
Comment 6 Casey 2010-06-19 20:02:33 UTC
EVE voice works perfectly under RC3.

If echo test fails, you need to ENSURE that the microphone input being used hasn't been muted. This needs to be set via alsamixer, NOT the pulseaudio tools.

I've been using EVE voice via wine rc2/3 + Arch 64 for a couple weeks now and it is working better than under windows.
Comment 7 Rob 2010-06-21 13:45:32 UTC
hello

Eve voice still does not work overhere.

My mic is NOT muted.

I use alsa.
with opensuse 11.2 x86_64 and wine 1.2-rc4

Have a problem
Sound id working, except jukebox. Echo test passes well, but "join audio" menuentry doesn't appear. When turning on\off eve voice in menu i get this in terminal^
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)

I have exactly the same behavior of eve-voice.
wine-1.2 from lucid or wine-1.3.3 from ppa - doesn't matter.

--- This bug report is too old, I check this and is working (on my system) but confirmation is needed, if this is fixed, please close this bug report -----

It seems that this bug is related to this one :
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14559

EVE voice now only fails when using a usb-headset.

So this bug is either fixed or a dupe.

The linked above have been fixed so could someone report if this one is still an issue or not?

Voice works for me but I do not use USB headsets so if someone could test this out and report back so we can finally close this one if its fixed.
Comment 13 Ken Sharp 2014-01-31 14:36:40 UTC
Reported fixed years ago.
Comment 14 Alexandre Julliard 2014-02-07 13:06:26 UTC
Closing bugs fixed in 1.7.12.
