Description Tobias Jakobi 2008-08-04 07:17:36 UTC
Mouse input with Blood 2 patched to latest version 2.1.233 does not work.

I tested it both with native dinput, dinput8 dlls and builtin variants.
Went back to wine-0.9.25 and still the same issue. So no regression I fear :(

This problem doesn't seem to be releated to the input issues with the B2 demo, and therefore can't be reproduced there.

Adding Vitaliy Margolen to CC since it is very likely a dinput bug.

Greets,
Tobias

And what was the result?

Changing from builtin to native and vice-versa didn't have any effect on mouse input.
It was simply like no mouse was attached at all.

That's for ingame of course. In the control settings menu of the game mouse events are registered, so that I can change the action assigned to MOUSE1 and MOUSE2.

Could a trace help to isolate the problem? I can also ask someone else with access to the game to verify it on different hardware.

Not a dinput then.
Comment 4 Tobias Jakobi 2008-09-21 13:50:01 UTC
Updating to wine-1.1.5 solves the issue for me.

Mouse input works, but is kinda laggy and skips a lot.
@Jan: Please open if it's not working for you.

Greets,
Tobias

So now I'm reopening this myself. I seems to be fixed on my laptop, but the mouse input on my desktop is still not working at all.

Trying to figure out what system components could make such a difference.

Reconfirming with newest git master on my desktop system.
Comment 7 Austin English 2008-11-17 17:53:24 UTC
Confirming then.
Comment 8 Austin English 2009-01-20 02:39:41 UTC
Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the
bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier
version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine
that had the bug. Thanks!

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 6
months. Is this still an issue in current (1.1.35 or newer) wine?
Comment 15 Saulius K. 2010-01-27 07:36:44 UTC
Tobias, could please test whether the Demo version is doesn't work on older versions also? I'am testing following download [1], but it doesn't work with Wine-0.9.10+.

I don't need to test this since the demo version never had this issue in the first place.

You need Blood 2 patched to version 2.1 to have this issue. Please note that the initial version (when you install the game) doesn't have this problem.

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 6 months. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.16 or newer) wine?
Comment 18 Tobias Jakobi 2011-04-28 04:59:18 UTC
Can't test this properly at the moment, since the new XInput2 code seems to have screwed up most of the mouse input handling anyway. I'll wait for wine-1.3.19 to check there again.

Can the OP retest? I bought the GOG.com version on a sale and tested it with Wine 1.5.11 and the mouse seems ok. I didn't test extensively, but this seems fixed.

No reply in a year, assuming fixed.
