Hi,

I'm using Wine 1.1.10 in Kubuntu 8.04 64 bits and I can't even install Skype 4.0.0.145 Beta. I'm sending my console output, I hope that can help (I'm answering the calling for check old bugs).

Best regards,
Alexandre

Please file a new bug for this (check for dupes first).

There isn't even currently a Wine beta available so this bug should imo only be considered valid if it applies to the release version after the beta too.

I meant to say "Skype beta". Ignore the stupid mistake.
Comment 10 Paul Vriens 2009-06-03 02:14:48 CDT
Do we want this bug to stay open even if Skype has released the 4 version?

Yes.

Sorry Austin, not sure what you mean with that link.

There is a beta 4.0.0.145 (which this report is about), but there is an official 4.0.0.227.

The 4.1.0.130 one is again a beta one.

Surely we don't want to pursue issues with beta products when the official one is available?

If the beta works on windows, it should work on wine. Whether or not it is a beta is irrelevant.
Comment 14 Paul Vriens 2009-06-03 12:15:25 CDT
OK, fair enough.
Comment 15 Michael 2009-06-26 11:04:15 CDT
Relese version 4 is avaialable.

Installing it with wine does not work, because the installer complains about some connection problems.
I installed it under a native windows and moved the files over to wine.

Using a virtual desktop Skype acctually allows me to sign in flawlessly. Information-Dialogs are shown, but as soon as the mainwindow is displayed, it crashes.

Confirming per comment #17.

Enable coredumpting (ulimit -c unlimited), run skype, make it crash. Run gdb on the core file (gdb core) and get the backtrace (bt). Attach it here.

Skype 4 has all kinds of problems, but separate bugs are needed for those.

I can successfully log in and make calls in Wine 1.3.29.

Fixed.
Comment 24 Alexandre Julliard 2011-10-10 13:12:07 CDT
Closing bugs fixed in 1.3.30.
