I'm installed the last version of JRE but Java don't work.
When I go to the test page or any other page which include Java I see white area where  thw Java should be, and after that Firefox lost some functionality like, it's impossible to change tab with the mouse and the direction of the writing in english go from right to left in the order of the letters.

It's also happen in wine-0.9.59

By "the latest version" do you mean Java SE 6?

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.6 or newer) Wine?

I'm able to install SUN JRE 6u16 without any problems, Eclipse starts fine after that (with its own bugs).

Don't know about Firefox, did you install windows Firefox using Wine?

The plugin loads with several graphic glitches.

I can install Java 6u25 and firefox 6 in 1.3.27 and in the firefox plugin list Java is listed. When I open the test page from comment #1 firefox hangs for about 20 seconds and then load java. If the screen is scrolled java does not repaint itself throwing a lot of

This bug has not been updated for two years. Originally reported Java is no longer available - if this always refers to 'newest', then this will stay open forever :)

Is this still an issue in current (1.5.28) or newer wine ? You may also close this as abandoned if you feel that that this is issue is no longer relevant to you.

Hello folks,

can't reproduce, works fine.

Prerequisite: you need 32-bit WINEPREFIX otherwise you run into bug 35084 (Firefox requires at least Windows XP SP2)

Firefox will detect JRE installation on first start and ask for addon installation -> check "Allow this installation" -> "continue" (will restart Firefox).

If you visit "https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre" the plugin won't be allowed by default "This plugin is vulnerable and should be updated" -> click "Activate" -> "allow now".

It then proceeds to validate and displays:

The download of the "jxpiinstall.exe" bootstrapper succeeds but the .msi one fails (which seems another bug).
