Confirming the behavior described below by Lorraine.

Seems to be related to the way fonts are displayed an example of the huge fonts being display is shown in the attachment ( http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11784 )

Great work

Behavior has changed slighly in in wine 1.2-rc7 the text on the "details" screen in the [top: name & id] sections are blank but the "details" tag section below now has hard to read text (small text)

Only parts of the screen are showing the Tahoma font now. I guess that progress.

After reading bug:14757 ( http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14757 ) that tmg7.04 only needs oleaut32 which can be installed as per bug:14757:comment 11( http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14757#c19 ) that using "winetricks mfc42" and installs a native oleaut32 that you can set native in wineconfig

End result is the same as installing dcom98 and fonts are shown correctly. So it seems to be an issue with the wine oleaut32

After see my comment#110 I tried tmg in Wine 1.2.3 with the result mentioned in that comment plus I noticed that the menu "File>Preferences > Reports Window" also showed text instead of extremely large text that appears when you hover a cursor over it (see http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11784 ) I've attached an image with wine 1.2.3's behavior for that screen.

Present in wine-1.4-rc6 on Ubuntu Precise Pangolin v12.04 64bit

Used winetricks mfc42 to install a native OLEUT32. However, when I go back into winetricks and set it to Native (Windows) TMG blows up at the time I try and run the program by clicking on the desktop icon.

Fix font scaling for tmg7

Please try the attached patch, it appears that the font size needs to be adjusted when the scaling ratio is changed.

I just installed in a fresh prefix (off git add85f4687e2249c40090ea33ad07a914ec13721) and I don't see this problem...

$ md5sum tmg7setup.exe

Spoke a little too soon, when you launch it there's a strange failure. It doesn't show the same log info you have though. I'll run a bisect on it and figure out what happened.

That's because I'm using tmg9setup.exe (md5: 992b88419958dcb43d67ebc7f44d5412). I'll open a separate bug for version 9, but where did you get older version?

Version 7 installs fine for me and I can confirm that mentioned commit http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commit/ba2ce9db498a40806d7bca5631ec8c50dd3b8dee definitely fixes a rendering problem. With current wine strings are rendered just fine.

Excellent, I must have just had something weird going on with my first clean install attempt (my regression isn't done, but so far every step has been good). With your confirmation I'm going to consider this bug finally fixed. Would you mind CCing me on the TMG9 install bug once you create it?

Closing bugs fixed in 1.7.13.
